Online College and University Search - check to
see if the college is quality.
Just a few questions to ask about the college or university before
signing up to attend their programs.
What is the dropout rate or percentage of students that complete
the program they started?
A high drop-out rate may suggest that students are dissatisfied
with the education an institution provides.
If the number of students that drop out or don't complete the program
is very high, or higher than average, there is a high statistical
possibility that they were dissastisfied with the educational program,
quality, or something else related to the school in question. If
the percentage of students that graduate from the college, university,
or trade school is very low compared with the number that enrolled,
you may want to consider another institution.
What was the opinion of the other students and people that attended
the college in question, did they enjoy their experience?
Colleges should be able to refer you to current students or recent
graduates of their programs. These individuals can give you their
opinion about classes, facilities, the faculty (teachers), and the
skills they have learned. Also ask about what types of jobs they
have obtained, and how valuable their current employers viewed their
degree with respect to where it came from. This will give you a
great idea as to the marketability of the education that you are
about to receive from that school.
Does the school offer modern educational facilities, such as
high speed internet access, newer computers, and software that you
will find in the workplace?
If the equipment that you find in the classes and courses at the
school is not the same as you would find in your future job, then
the education program you are considering is not really suited for
work after college. One of the most important aspects of the search
for higher education is that the college have excellent facilities
that cater to the needs of the present, and future, workplace technnologies.
